September 19, 2025 — Kiharu Member of Parliament, Hon. Ndindi Nyoro, has graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi during the institution’s 73rd graduation ceremony held today.
The legislator, who has built a reputation as both a politician and businessman, joined hundreds of other graduands at the iconic institution’s grounds in celebrating their academic achievements.
Nyoro, who first earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Kenyatta University in 2009, has consistently emphasized the importance of education and self-improvement.
His decision to pursue postgraduate studies in economics comes at a time when Kenya continues to grapple with complex fiscal and developmental challenges.
Throughout his political career, Nyoro has served in key leadership roles, including as Chairman of the Budget and Appropriations Committee in the National Assembly, where he was at the center of national financial planning and expenditure oversight.
His new qualification is expected to further strengthen his contributions in economic policy, budget analysis, and governance.

Away from politics, Nyoro is also an established entrepreneur with investments in stock brokerage, private equity, and energy.
He is among the major individual shareholders of the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) and has often shared his belief that economic empowerment and African-led investment are critical for the continent’s progress.
Speaking after his graduation, Nyoro reiterated his long-held philosophy: “We are African and Africa is our Business.”
The message underscored his focus on regional economic growth and the need for Africans to take charge of their development journey.
The University of Nairobi, one of Africa’s top-ranked institutions, congratulated all graduands, highlighting their resilience and commitment to academic excellence.

For Nyoro, the milestone has been widely celebrated by colleagues, supporters, and constituents, many of whom lauded him for balancing the demands of politics, business, and advanced study.
As Kenya’s economy faces pressing issues such as inflation, unemployment, and public debt, observers believe leaders like Nyoro — armed with advanced training in economics — will play a crucial role in shaping national policy direction.
Today’s graduation not only marked a personal triumph for the Kiharu MP but also set the stage for a deeper engagement with Kenya’s economic transformation agenda.
